Happy Horse New Year: Follow Your Heart’s Desire!

The Snake slithers away as the Horse gallops in.

With a glorious entrance through the ‘ring of fire’ (annular) Solar Eclipse. This makes a New Moon more potent and opens a cosmic portal. I called them Taoist delights, as we witness the wedding of the dark and light of the moon and the sun.

This definitely sets the tone of this exhilarating Fire Horse Year!

The five elements go through the 12 animals of Taoist astrology. The horse is the 7th animal, marking the middle of a twelve-year cycle.

The Horse is in its element, which happens every 60 years. This amplifies its attributes.

Horse year is a time of bravery, adventure, and romance.

This is your year to create powerful change. Horse is a warrior, and under Horse’s strong influence, there will not be much compromise.

Fire Horse year is an excellent time for travel.

Moving from the deep Yin Snake to the deep Yang Horse. A huge energy shift intensified with the no. ‘1’ (2+0+2+6 numerology) and Western astrology’s new cycles.

Number 1 energy brings reset, start, and new beginnings.

‘1’ connects with the sun, emanating vitality, confidence, and self-expression. Solar energy also represents the Divine spark, leadership, independence, and pioneering. All qualities of the Fire Horse.

The planets Neptune and Saturn are going to be in the first sign of the zodiac, fiery Aries, this year and beyond. Aries, like the Horse, favours initiative, freedom, and bold action.

Neptune is about spirituality, intuition, and dreams. It takes 165 years to enter a star sign, staying there about 14 years, marking a generation. It entered Aries on 26.01.26 and will be there until March 2039.

• Does it give the courage to fulfil your wildest dreams? The Horse does!

Saturn is about structure, responsibility, and discipline. It takes 28-29 years to circle the zodiac and is around 2.5 years in a star sign. It entered Aries on Friday 13th February, and will remain there until April 2028.

• Aries and the Fire Horse are great at starting many things, but do not always finish them all. Saturn brings a dash of diligence that will support achievement.

Adding more fire, for the second part of the year:

Jupiter, the planet of expansion and good fortune, is moving into fiery Leo from 30th June to July 2027. Jupiter has a cycle of twelve years, staying around one year in each sign.

• Leo connects with the heart, like the fire in the Taoist 5 Elements. Also, with the creativity and romance, like the Fire Horse.

A lively and high-spirited year for all.

It is a good time for letting off steam and doing all the whimsical things you have dreamt about. Listen to your senses.

• Are you ready to burn your fears and light your heart’s desires?

This year rewards forward movement and swift momentum. There is no space for procrastination; decisive action is the key to success.

As the Chinese say: A good horse never turns its head to eat the grass behind.

The Red (aka Fire) Horse sharp intuition spots opportunities and senses danger.

Go for it, take the opportunities presented; otherwise, you see them passing by!

Although bearing in mind that:

Fire creates and lights up. Fire destroys and burns out.

Make balance your anchor and discernment your compass.

This supports you to ride the Horse’s passionate energy for your highest good. Aligned with your truth and authenticity, this is what heart energy calls for.

Looking at the heart, the organ we can’t live without, the sovereign. It carries the spirit, aka “Shen”, shining from the eyes.

The Fire Element in Taoist/Chinese medicine also connects with:

The small intestine – sorts and absorbs what our body needs, standing for discernment.

The pericardium acts as a protector of the heart, thus aka heart protector.

The triple heater – is fundamental to regulating body temperature, standing for balance. Harmonise the three tan tiens, aka three minds.

In this fast and high-energy year, your well-being and self-care are crucial.

Do you know a horse will run until its heart stops?

So make your pace, and be aware when to hold your horses. The horse not only gallops, but it can also trot and even fly…

More energy in your head, then you need more movement in your body.

High energy/emotion in your heart, make sure you keep your nervous system regulated. To support this, you have Qigong and Tai Chi, which give you the fundamental grounding. Also, the conscious breathing and dance.

In Taoist Inner Alchemy, we use healing sounds for the heart and triple heater. They are great for cooling down. Also, the microcosmic orbit is great for harmonisation while harnessing energy. Among other practices, a significant one is:

Jade is a heart healer, strengthening your nervous system. While supporting the cultivation of self-love and self-nurturing.

The horse is warm-hearted and intelligent. As a leader, one also knows when to follow another. This is how the herd functions, with the leader being a mare. The stallion stays in the back, ensuring protection.

• Are you ready to step into your full power from your heart and womb space?

Rebellious Fire Horses’ years have been a turning point for women’s emancipation. Thanks to the feminists who fight for women’s rights and freedom.

In 1906, the suffrage movement made an important advancement for women to have the right to vote.

In 1966, activists fostered equal employment, legal, and reproductive rights.

What’s happening this year?

I wish all the above human rights extended to all women in the world. We’ll get there.

I see us, already free women, as pioneering a feminine way. A path for women in their compassionate and empowered selves, a heart-womb leadership. This is what the world needs for balance to be restored. I envision the next generations onwards living this path as a way of being.

Jade Priestesses follow the Kuan Yin path of the fierce and compassionate feminine.

Kuan Yin rides the Dragon, but it’s a lesser-known manifestation of this Goddess:

Ma Tou “Horse’s Head” Kuan Yin. She represents a fierce, protective aspect of compassion that helps overcome obstacles.

Mystical Horses are part of ancient cultures’ mythology across the globe. Inspiring legends and artwork. The magical horse establishes the connection between dimensions and celestial movement.

Very like Dragon. So not surprising horse is one of the Chinese people’s favourite animals.

Fire Horse like Dragon set for great success or spectacular disaster. Although they have the tenacity to turn a difficult situation into a favourable one.

While in a Taoist temple in China, I saw the worship of a horse statue, with offerings and prayers. I also came across the Horse God, the celestial horse king, Ma-wang. Chinese mythology said he lived in a region in upper Asia and was the ancestor of all horses.

The Dragon-Horse emerged from the Yellow River as a cosmic messenger. This happened during Fu Xi’s (half-snake half-human I wrote about last year!) primordial time. He was the first mythical emperor of China.

The Dragon-Horse Spirit, Lóng Mǎ Jīng Shén, is in its high vibration this year! Believed to bring a humanitarian shift. The ending of an era, with all that no longer serves, opening to a bright new beginning.

This aligns with the rare conjunction (about every 36 years) of Neptune and Saturn. It happens at 0° degrees, which stands for infinite possibilities, three days after the Lunar Year begins. History has observed outdated belief systems and structures breaking down during these periods. Last time it happened, we had various world events, including the fall of the Berlin Wall.

There are many more famous mystical horses, such as:

Tianma, the heavenly horse of China.

Kuan Yin’s white celestial horse flies through the heavens, bringing peace and blessings.

Tibetan wind-horse carries prayers to Spirit.

Flying Pegasus from Greek mythology.

The Norse God Odin has an eight-legged horse, Sleipnir.

Uchaihshravas, a Hindu seven-headed celestial horse that emerged from the ocean.

The Unicorns with their magic and purity that go beyond Celtic mythology. In the UK… and the world!

The seahorses, which resemble a miniature dragon! They are born from the father, the unique male pregnancy. Teaching power is not only forceful and fast, but also slow and gentle. Definitely something to remember in this year!…

In the Native American tradition, the horse is physical power and unearthly power. In shamanic practices worldwide, the horse helps the shaman soar and reach heaven.

“True power is wisdom found in remembering your total journey. Wisdom comes from remembering pathways you have walked in another person’s mocassins. Compassion, caring, teaching, loving, and sharing your gifts, talents and abilities are the gateways to power.” Jamie Sams, in the Medicine Cards.

• How do you connect with the Horse and all its forms? Through art, vision, memories, and stories. How does it manifest for you?

From horse whispering to mystical horse experiences, I have many stories. But from the mundane experiences I had, the connection with horses is pure heart to heart.

While lying on the beach on an Indonesian island, I saw a horse with its local owner going to the sea. I got up to go and meet them. The owner left me with the horse and went for a long swim. The horse and I became besties; he was so happy with my washing and massaging. This amazing moment is in a photo, where you see a ray of light connecting our hearts!

On this island where there were no cars, horses were the transportation. A few years before, I was on another island like this on the other side of the world, in Brazil.

I used to walk every day through the horses to go to the beach. I made a friend, my ‘amiguinha’, and we developed such a bond. On the last day, she kept following me; she felt I was leaving, and it was not an easy goodbye!

Another love story with my horse in Mongolia… Horses are still worshipped there today! I learned their divination through small animal bones. If the horse ones come out, lucky you.

Since immemorial time, a horseshoe has been a sign of good luck and protection.
